Breast Lift Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs in Turkey

Can mastopexy and other surgeries be combined?

Depending on the size of the breast, how droopy it is, the surgeon's choice, and the patient's desire, breast reduction, breast augmentation, and breast lift surgeries can be combined. This is how a lot of breast lift operations are carried out. The breast may eventually droop if the huge breast is lifted without a reduction. For tiny breasts to be sufficiently lifted and to return the nipple to its natural position, a silicone prosthesis could be necessary.

Why does the breast sag? How to understand whether the breast is saggy or not?

Why does the breast sag? How to understand whether the breast is saggy or not?

After the weight is reduced, the breast may droop. The hereditary ligaments that hang and support the breast sag as a result of their dysfunction. Genetically having big breasts, increasing weight, frequent nursing, hormones, and some drugs can all cause breast growth and sagging. Some breasts may droop because the milk-filled breasts that were full during nursing will now be empty. The mechanisms that keep the breasts tight and gathered are lost as we age, which results in a loss of breast tissue, partial emptying, and sagging breasts. This circumstance is typical. You can stand in front of the mirror and examine the appearance of the breast to determine whether you have a huge breast. It's okey if the nipples remain above the fold line beneath the breast. But it is matter if the breast is drooping and has reached the fold level or is below this line.

Is non-surgical mastopexy possible?

The breast cannot be lifted without surgery. Non-surgical procedures cannot provide a permanent solution. Even if exercise is beneficial for you, it will not lift your breasts. Remember, the breast muscle plays no role in breast lift. The effects of medications, excessive fluid intake and herbal remedies cannot reduce breast size.

Can I have a breast enlargement at the same time as a breast lift?

Can I have a breast enlargement at the same time as a breast lift?

Although breast implants and breast lift treatments can be performed concurrently, many physicians have discovered that doing the procedures in separate phases typically yields superior outcomes. Two treatments are becoming more common because they enable breast lift incisions to heal without the extra strain of an implant stretching them. It also enables the patient to more precisely select an implant depending on the new appearance of their bust. In certain circumstances, the procedure is still conducted concurrently, however this is determined by your surgeon's preferences.

Can a breast lift correct asymmetry?

Breast asymmetry is quite prevalent, with the majority of women having one breast that is somewhat bigger than the other. However, in other situations, breast asymmetry can be rather extreme, giving the patient anguish. A breast lift treatment can aid in the correction of asymmetry, but it cannot guarantee success. In other circumstances, breast asymmetry is caused by asymmetry in the chest wall rather than asymmetry in the breast itself, which cannot be rectified with a breast uplift treatment. Breast asymmetry can be discussed with your physician during your consultation, allowing them to develop an individualised treatment plan.

Will I need to wear a special bra after a breast lift procedure?

It is normally recommended that you wear your surgical bra day and night for six weeks after surgery, although this may vary based on your surgeon's preferences and how you are recovering. When your surgeon gives the go-ahead, you will be permitted to return to wearing underwire bras after 6 weeks.

Can I still get breast mammograms after a breast lift procedure?

A breast lift has little to no influence on a mammography screening process. If you had a mammography prior to your breast uplift treatment, the pictures from that mammogram may not be useful for comparing subsequent mammograms against. We recommend that you speak with your doctor and schedule a mammogram 6 months following your breast uplift treatment to produce a fresh baseline mammogram image from which they can discover change in the future. The actual mammography operation can proceed as usual.

Can I drive after a breast lift?

We recommend that you refrain from driving until the anaesthesia has worn off and you are no longer taking pain medication. You should also only drive if you are comfortable doing so and have complete freedom of movement. In general, we suggest waiting 1-2 weeks before requesting permission from your surgeon during your post-op checkup.

Is a mastopexy permanent? How long does a breast lift last?

The outcomes of a breast lift may not be permanent. Over time, the breasts begin to droop. The breasts may sag once again after the procedure as a consequence of the same circumstances. But in no way does this drooping make you seem worse than you did before. Looking at the patient reviews, it can be concluded that drooping breasts are still rather uncommon.

It is conceivable that you will require an additional breast lift. Some women decide to have a repeat breast lift as a "touch-up" treatment to improve the overall appearance of their breasts. However, they may not require a full-length operation.

How do you shower after mastopexy?

You should not take a shower. Bath for no more than 10 minutes. Remove the steri-strips/surgical tape that we applied to your sutures. After showering, wipe dry with a towel or air-dry, but do not massage or contact your breasts or scars.

Do breast lift scars hurt?

Because a breast lift procedure involves an incision pattern, some post-procedure pain is unavoidable. The degree of discomfort experienced after surgery differs widely from patient to patient, although it is surprisingly manageable in the majority of breast lift patients. With the painkillers provided by the surgeon, you may experience the recuperation time more easily.

How do you sleep after mastopexy?

To avoid pain, most people sleep on their back for at least 2-4 weeks following breast lift operation. Some individuals can restart side sleeping comfortably after 1-2 weeks, however stomach sleeping might be difficult or painful for much longer.

Short-haul flights can resume one week following your surgery, while long-haul flights must be avoided for two weeks. We recommend discussing any travel arrangements with your physician before scheduling your treatment to ensure you are recovered on time.

When can I return to work after a breast uplift procedure?

Can I pick up my child after breast lift surgery?

We recommend that you arrange for childcare assistance for at least the first week following your breast lift treatment. Check in with your surgeon during your two-week checkup to seek their advice, as they will be able to evaluate how you are recovering. When you start lifting your child again, be sure to lift with your knees, make sure the child isn't moving about too much, don't hold for too long, and stop immediately if it hurts or starts to ache.

Do I need to have breast implants with my uplift procedure?

Most surgeries don't require a breast implant when combined with a breast lift procedure. A breast implant will leave your breast larger, so unless this is also what you want from the surgery, a breast implant is not necessary.

What is the recovery process?

You will be required to stay in the clinic overnight following the surgery.

You will need to relax for two to six weeks after returning home, depending on your age and overall fitness. We suggest that you take at least two weeks off work and refrain from engaging in vigorous activity for at least six weeks.

Swelling and localised discomfort will go away in a few weeks, but you must wear a support bra with no underwire for at least 6 weeks.

Scars are often very red for the initial six weeks following surgery. They then become purple over the next three months before vanishing.
