What is Eyebrow Lift?
Our eyebrows are one of the parts that accompany the expression on our face the most. When we are angry, sad, surprised, thoughtful... they immediately take on a form that suits the situation and emphasize our expression. And since they are so active, they get tired and fall off quickly! As we age, our eyebrows succumb to gravity and fall down, giving our face a tired, sad and old appearance. The structure of the skin is another parameter that is as effective as our age in the fall of our eyebrows. Fortunately, there is more than one method to raise our eyebrows. With the development of technology, these methods, which we meet with new ones every day, can sometimes be used alone, and sometimes in a way that supports and complements each other.
While increasing age seems to be the main factor, unhealthy habits in our lifestyle can also cause our eyebrows to fall more or earlier than usual.
Smoking and alcohol use, the skin not being able to get the moisture it needs, inadequate skin care, unhealthy diet, living in polluted air conditions and of course stress are the living habits that increase eyebrow deformation.
If you have concerns about general anesthesia or if the deformation in your eyebrows is not severe enough to require surgery, you can easily choose non-surgical methods. These methods are quite effective and are undoubtedly much more practical and accessible than surgery. These methods, developed as an alternative to surgical methods, can be considered under two headings: eyebrow lift filling and focus ultrasound.
As with other facial filling procedures, it is an extremely fast, practical and painless procedure. It provides the eyebrow with the desired shape with tiny filling injections made to the right points without restricting the eyebrow's movements. The procedure takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Although the effects are felt at first after the filling procedure, the full results of the filling appear on the 10th day.
Duration of Effect: The effect of eyebrow lift filler varies between 4 and 6 months depending on the structure of the eyebrow and skin. You can always have eyebrows that look lifted and attractive by having eyebrow filler twice a year.
Focus ultrasound is based on the principle that ultrasound energy focused on the desired area affects and revitalizes the skin with sound waves. These waves reach 4.5 mm below the skin and activate and revitalize the tissue there. The tissue under the eyebrow tightens, stretches and regains its former lively appearance. The application takes about 10-15 minutes, as in the filling. It is a simple procedure that is performed without any incision. The effect of focus ultrasound becomes half-perceptible after the procedure, but the full results of the application increase day by day and are fully observed by the third month.
It is a procedure performed with local anesthesia. It is the process of lifting the tissues under the skin by suspending them with threads. These threads are fixed under the skin with needles without making an incision. Local anesthesia is applied to the areas where the needles will be applied before the procedure. The points where the threads will be fixed are entered with needles and the tissues under the skin are pulled to these points to create a tight line on the eyebrow. In the eyebrow lift procedure, how much the eyebrow will be lifted is very important, an overly raised eyebrow can cause an angry or confused expression. For this reason, it is necessary to make sure that the doctor who will perform the operation is an experienced doctor who knows the facial anatomy very well.
If you are worried about losing the effect after the eyebrow lift with a thread lift, you can increase the permanence of the procedure even more by having a double thread lift if your doctor deems it appropriate.
Although non-surgical methods allow for very effective results in eyebrow lifting, in very advanced ages and very rapid weight loss, sometimes severe sagging and drooping that may require surgery may occur. We can talk about two main surgical methods:
1. Endoscopic Brow Lift: The most commonly used surgical eyebrow lift method is the endoscopic eyebrow lift or temple lift operation. An incision is made in the scalp on the forehead, the skin extending from the eyebrow to the forehead is stretched, excess skin is removed and stitched back to the hair root. The surgery does not leave a scar, it is a very simple operation compared to a surgical procedure.
2. Surgical Eyebrow Lift: In cases where the procedure performed with the needle is not expected to be sufficient, that is, if the possibility of the eyebrow falling is very high, the double thread technique is applied by making a surgical incision. The possibility of the eyebrow falling again is completely eliminated.
